Results varied widely from person to person, and weight regain was common after treatment stopped. It is generally not recommended if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, or if you have had a serious allergic reaction to semaglutide. Tell your clinician about any history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney problems or diabetic eye disease.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and fatigue. They are most common while the dose is increasing and often ease over time. Less common but serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, dehydration and kidney injury, and a warning about thyroid C-cell tumors seen in animal studies. Contact the clinic right away if you have severe or persistent stomach pain, repeated vomiting or an allergic reaction.
